The Second Camera of the Third Dimension
The history of 3D cameras does not go back as far as many other photography items. Although at the dawn of photo history the first pioneers of stereo photography appeared, due to the difficulty of taking real stereoscopic images as well as the huge number of accessories needed, they only meant a very small group of fans. Fujifilm implemented the basic idea of stereoscopic photography when they launched their first 3D camera, the Fujifilm FinePix Real 3D W1.
The purpose of this hub is to introduce a new product, the Fujifilm FinePix Real 3D W3, on the digital photography market. To tell you the truth it is not the very first of its kind but certainly the most advanced 3D camera available for the public today.
As a photography enthusiast I was extremely happy when I first heard that Fujifilm is trying to make a compact 3D camera for the average user. It was exactly two years ago. After launching the prototype, the W1 model the Japanese wanted to bring it to perfection and finally now the newest version, the W3 has arrived at the shops. I can only talk about it by using superlatives end recommend it full-heartedly to anybody who enjoys taking pictures.
Although it was difficult to preserve my objectivity - I simply love this camera - but I tried very hard and collected my thoughts and some opinions in the form of reviews. I do hope that my enthusiasm will find followers and can encourage fellow photographers to experiment with this truly 21st century equipment.

General Review
The basic principle behind theFujifilm FinePix Real 3D W3 model is that it has a pair of 3x optical zoom lenses which enable the camera to take two slightly different, individual pictures at the same instant. These two images are captured by two 10-megapixel sensors and the so called central Real Photo Processor together with the Multi Picture Object (MPO) combine them into a single shot with a truly realistic sense of depth. The revolutionary novelty lies in the LCD screen of the camera, which due to its special technology can show 3D images and movies without the use of any additional accessories.
By the way movies. Yes, you can even film your daughter's wedding or the big match of your son - all in 3D, and show it to your friends and family on your new 3D TV. The Fine Pix Real 3D W3 is able to do that in High-Definition quality.

Features vs Benefits
Capture spectacular high-resolution images in 2D and 3D as well. That means you can still use your favourite frame to place your newest picci in it and of course your old printer should do fine when you print regular 2D photos.
Record 3D movies (720p resolution) and show it proudly to your family and friends on your new 3D Television set - should you own one. It can also be used as an excellent 2D camera.
The dual 10 megapixel CCD and lens system enables the camera to capture even the finest details, combining a perfectly matching image pair into one 3d image with a very natural sense of depth.
3.5-inch widescreen autostereoscopic LCD displays single pictures and movies immediately without the need of those uncomfortable and ugly goggles.
The Fujifilm FinePix Real 3D W3 comes with a mini-HDMI output, which offers easy connection to a 3D TV. It is compatible with most brands and models on the market.
Capture images and movies to SD or SDHC memory cards, just like you have been doing it so far with your old compact camera.
At the moment we can witness the beginning of a massive transformation of the consumer electronics industry. Soon (if not yet) 3D technology will represent itself in every segment. There are 3D televisions, 3D projectors, laptops with 3D screens, 3D games and we could go on for long. Even the 2010 World Cup could be watched in 3D.Most probably by the time of the 2012 Olympics in London this technology will be available all over the globe. More and more TV channels broadcast films and especially sports events in 3D. Check out the special offers of Sky (Sports) 3D.
As at the moment not too many households have a 3D television set ( Hm…. I would love to see some statistics after the Holidays) Sky encourages sports fans, and of course pub owners, to enjoy together some of the most important sporting events in 3D in pubs throughout Britain. I love the idea, though I find the 3D glasses rather uncomfortable.
